Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Try this smoothie and get a great start to your day, feel energized and satisfied at the same time. A delicious breakfast bowl or healthy snack when you feel like something cool and refreshing made totally from fruit with a touch of coconut cream and topped with a crunchy nut seed topping.


Equipment: A blender is preferred

INGREDIENTS FOR SMOOTHIE

1 large ripe banana sliced and frozen

1 cup of strawberries frozen

1 tablespoon coconut cream

1 tablespoon sweetener, ( honey, pitted dates, agave nectar, maple syrup or fruit juice)

1/4 to 1/2 cup ice water, plant milk or coconut water, enough to reach desired thickness


INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING

Fresh fruit of choice

Nuts and seeds of choice

Edible flowers and petals for added colour


METHOD

*Place frozen banana and strawberries into the blender.

*Add coconut cream, sweetener and half the amount of liquid, turn blender on low and slowly work up the speed, as the blades start turning freely, add more liquid as required. Your smoothie mixture needs to be thick and of a smooth consistency, not watery.

*When the right consistency has been reached empty the contents of smoothie into a serving bowl.

*Decorate with fresh fruit, nuts and seeds, flowers etc. Be as creative as you like.
